Feb. Round Up

Yeah so I know March is almost over and I'm doing my summary of Feburary now.  Oh well...I was busy then and I'm busy now.  In fact, I should be working on a way too long proposal for my English class.  I'll call this blogging my study break, although, I was taking a Facebook study break when I saw my friend had blogged yet again.  This reminded me that I am weeks behind on my blogging.

So the exictement of Febuarary was finishing round one of exams and then rushing out to South Dakota quick.  Quick and I mean it...we were gone for exactly three days and two hours from Washington.  We went so Erin could tour South Dakota School of Mines.  All I'll say is that campus and student population weren't big enough for me, but I loved Rapid City!  There were soooo many nice people out there!

Pretty Lovely Blog

So my friend Jordyn has finally created her fashion blog, Pretty Lovely!  I'm going to take some credit for it, though, because I told her I had a blog when she was talking about starting one last semester.  I'm certain me having a blog makes sooooo many others start blogs...wishful thinking I'm sure.  But I would love to think I do inspire people!!

Anyway, check out her blog!  Her outfit ideas are cute, simple, pretty, and cheap!  I feel like everything is something most people could find in their closet. 

My favorite outfits of her's are her dresses and ones with a thrift store item.  Jordyn makes me jealous with how well and prettily she pulls off dresses.  I think about wearing dresses but convince myself otherwise all the time.  I'm hoping I'll eventually be inspired by her dress outfits! 

She has inspired me, though, to do a blog post called "Some of my Favorite Things."  She did one and it was sooooo cute!  I loved how it helped me learn more about her.  So stay tuned for that post.  I've been thinking about it, but now is not the time!  I'm too busy and getting ready for a big weekend...stay tuned for that too!

New Toad Tank

When I was home this past weekend, I decided it was time to start the process of getting my fire belly toads their own new tank.  Last semester my roommate, who loves all things in tanks, moved my toads into one of her tanks so that they could have more space.  Well they loved it.  But I also knew that I needed to get my own things for my toads since I'll be moving in May.

 

I started by looking at prices online, and then decided to turn to Facebook to find one.  Within minutes of posting on Facebook that I was looking for something, I got a phone call from my boyfriend's mom saying she had a tank I could have!  I was pretty excited and even more so as she told me it had everything I needed...a lid, working lights, and rocks!

 

I went to bed Friday night with ideas of how I was going to decorate the new toad tank running through my mind.  I went through several scenarios, and then it all came together.  I have been wanting to add a fish to my little pet collection so I decided I would put a fish bowl in the toad tank with the toads.  I imagined it looking cool and it does.  Having a beta fish and toads in one tank is good stimulation for one another.  They are also getting along just fine.  The big toad is the climber and curious one so he spends a lot of time climbing and sitting on the fish bowl. 

 

To the left is a site I come home to quite often.  That is the big toad scaling up between the side of the tank and the bowl to take a look at things.  But don't worry, the toads can't get into the bowl.  I bought a screen and have the bowl raised so that its top is flush with the screen.  Amazingly enough, I have yet to see Watson, the beta, get all puffed up over a toad on his bowl.  He is a chill beta who doesn't fight I guess.  He is by far the prettiest beta I have ever had, too.  I love how blue he is.  He is named Watson because Watson is a road name between Royal and Pullman.  I just thought it was a good name when I saw it driving back Monday and would go along with the toads' names, Chesney and Houston.  I had the fish named before I even had gotten to the pet store to buy him!  I guess that shows just how excited I was about this whole thing.  Silly that I'm 22 and that this is something I get excited about!  Oh well.

 

The toads really enjoy this decoration called the "Ruins Wall."  Erin picked it out at WalMart and it is the perfect perch for both toads.  It also goes really well the rocks and plants I have.  Thanks to Erin, Dad, Mom and Janine for helping make the toads' new home happen!  They are happy little campers!



FYI:  A good way to clean a ten gallon tank and anything smaller is by putting it in the dish washer!!  It'll do wonders!!
