Thanksgiving and Thankful for a Cougar Win!!

Thanksgiving Break was such a good break.  It was a break from everything, and a good way to get refreshed for the final stretch of the semester and finals.  However, it was another break that wasn't long enough.  I did a lot and kept so busy but at the same time wish I could have done so much more. 

There were three best parts to break:  seeing my whole big family at Thanksgiving and helping Erin with rodeo queen stuff, hanging out with Brain, and the Cougars winning the Apple Cup.

 Yes, that would be Buzz on the table.  (Don't tell Dad...let him find out by reading the blog.)  The flowers had been on the table ten minutes and we were all outside, and I ran back into the house and found this.  Buzz is bad but I love him.  I also know what he is thankful for.  He is thankful for Cara bringing home pretty flowers...that's why he was on the table when I came into the house and why he started purring when I took my camera out!

 

Trigger went out with Brian and I to shoot guns one afternoon.  He is such a cutie and such a good pup.  Shooting a pistol was a whole new thing for me.  Thank goodness Brian is such a good teacher.

Erin and I after the Apple Cup.  It was so much fun when the Cougars were hyped up and playing well.  I'm thankful to have witnessed and experienced a Cougar Apple Cup win during my time at WSU.  The excitement and feeling of beating the Huskies is great!  (Sorry to my sad Huskie routing family members.)

If you've never been to a football game in Pullman or experienced the RVers and tailgaters...it is a sight to see.  These people are hard core fans to the core!  This inflated Butch the Cougar was just too cute next to one of the RVs.

I enjoyed Buzz's company sooooo much when I studied over break.  He is so smart and such a good study buddy.  He never questions what I know or don't know.  It's nice.



Erin the 18 year old birthday girl!  That's right...my little sister is 18 now and too grown up as usual.  Where did the time go?  All I know is that I was so happy I got to be home and spend time celebrating her birhtday with family and friends!

 

Break was wonderful and I can't wait for the next...finals finish soon so I can go home for Christmas!!

A Sewing Beauty for a Birthday Girl

I suppose the title for this post could be "Sewing Beauties."  After all, I am a sewing beauty and so is my fabulous sewing machine my parents got me for my birthday.  It is pretty much my favorite birthday gift for turning 22!  (Don't tell Brian, please.)  It is so fancy and wonderful!  It does everything and I mean everything!  It is computerized...all I do is push buttons and press the peddle.  It does everything else for me for the most part.

Some of its cool features include:

• Cute decorative stitches with cars, camp trailers, hearts, flowers, tulips, and bicycles
• An Up/Down feature which means I can set it to have the needle stop in the down position when I take my foot off the peddle when going around corners
• A special foot for sewing leather, good thing there is a rodeo queen in the house with lots of leather stuff
• The capability of sewing with twin needles
• It can even tie off and cut the thread off for me with the push of a button
• It has dual lights on the arm
• Three fonts with numbers
• I can create stitch programs on it to.  For instance, I can program every other stitch to be a flower then leaves to make a flower vine decorative stitch
• It'll even tell me when the bobbin is running low, that will be nice because it is so annoying to be sewing along and have your bobbin run out
• Automatic buttonholes and it'll even sew the buttons on

Sounds pretty smart and amazing if you ask me!  If anyone needs something sewn, talk to me...my machine will get the job done!

I really was blessed with a wonderful birthday weekend back on the first weekend of November.  I had some of my best and closest friends over from school, and loved every second of it.  Brian was even able to make it over, which was really special.  Everyone loved the ice cream cake I made along with all the other treats I went crazy making.  I also really liked playing games with my friends.  The laughs were great and memorable.  Thanks to everyone who came over and helped kick off my birthday weekend!

 

Shauna brought me these super pretty flowers.  I loved the color of them!



Rachel made these adorable earrings for me.  I've been talking about making some like them, but I'm so glad she made them because she is way more talented at earring making than me.  Also, a special thanks to Rachel for all her help at my party!

On Saturday, Brian made me feel spoiled.  He got me everything I had said I would like for a birthday gift.  I did not tell him I needed all those things and I certainly would have been happy with going out for lunch.  But he spoiled me.  He got me a super pretty western picture frame, a leatherman for doing my crafts, and a warm fleece jacket.  He even made sure my leatherman had scissors so I can use them for cutting while crafting.  We also went out for lunch and breakfast.  He amazes me with his love.  His mom was also very kind and made sure to send me a gift...another pretty western frame.  



 

 

Thanks to mom and dad for the sewing machine and everyone else who gave me a little something or sent a card with kind words.  Thanks to Brian for the best birthday weekend, too.  My birthday was sure a good and special one!!
