Mom's Weekend

This last weekend my mom came for WSU's Mom's Weekend 2011.  I love Mom's Weekend! I love it because it is so nice to be able to spend a whole weekend relaxing and having fun with my mother.  My mom got to Pullman early Saturday afternoon and left early Sunday afternoon, which meant we got a whole 24 hours together!  It was great having one on one time with her because it let just us chat, giggle, and be silly together like best friends.

As soon as my mom arrived, we went to a Mother and Daughter Tea and Spa.  It was SOOOOO relaxing and the massage felt SOOOOO good and the cheesecake was SOOOOO yummy!  I'm certain my mom and I would agree that this was the best part of the weekend.  After we were done being pampered, we went to the arts and craft fair on campus.  I love these types of things!  I love looking at all the cool stuff people make.  These people are creative and make some really pretty things.  I got my mom and I matching spoon rings again this year.  This is my little tradition for us.  Last year I got us matching rings and I will continue to do so until I graduate.  Next, we went to one of my friend's apartment for a jewelry party.  Can you say "girl heaven"?  Well just imagine.  My whole weekend was a girl heaven weekend because it was tea, desserts, massages, jewelry and more jewelry and makeup.  I got a cute pair of earrings at my friends party.  Then we quickly took off to meet up with my other friends and their mothers for dinner.  But before that we stopped at Macy's and bought makeup.  At this point, girl heaven just got better because I love makeup and could not keep my hands off of all the pretty stuff.  After making our purchases, we met up with the others for dinner.  Dinner was good with lost of visiting and laughing.  We finished Saturday off by going to a concert, but we were so tired from our busy day that we just kind of sat there watching in a daze.  We did like it though because the music was relaxing.  We definitely weren't up for rockin' out.

Sunday morning we got up bright and early so that we could go to the plant sale.  WSU has the best plant sale and you cannot get better flowers or tomatoes for your garden anywhere else!  My mom and I loaded up the back of her Suburban with plants.  She was so excited to pick out plants.  We bought plants last year but not too many because she drove her little car.  This year she wanted to buy a lot so she drove the Suburban, and we filled 'er up!  Next, we got a quick breakfast.  Then we headed to the grocery store for tissues.  Except, we came out with much more than tissues.  You know how that goes, right?  Well if you don't that's okay, but as a warning don't ever let my mom or I lose in a store because we will buy everything.  Haha!  We bought candy, pop, food, and WSU gear first.  Then we remembered that we had actually gone to the store for tissues.  So back in we went.  So that is a typical trip to the store for us.  But there was this really cool basket that we took turns pulling.  It was a new experience for us!  A grocery basket on wheels!  It was cool and I wanted it for myself...but mom said no.  Once we were done at the store, we went back up to my dorm so that I could send home stuff with my mom.  We had to squeeze my boxes of stuff in since the Suburban had recently become a garden on wheels.  And all too quick Mom's Weekend came to an end and my mother went back home and, again, I stayed in Pullman.

Still Behind on Blogging!

Maybe my goal of blogging at least once a week was too much of a goal for a busy college student like me to set.  Haha!  Oh well, I guess it is better for me to be behind on blogging than on school work, which is why I haven't blogged forever!

The last two weeks of my life consisted of lots of studying and time at the library, three exams, one four page paper, two three page lab reports, six labs, a 5k fun run with a friend, eight shifts at my job for about three hours each, two hours of volunteer work at a horse barn, and to top it off my Internet stopped working on my computer so I was computer less for a few days, too.  Oh, and I slept a little in between all those things and found time to get distracted on Facebook.  That right there is what my life was the last couple weeks.  It was crazy and stressful, but I survived.  Now I am done with exams for 4 weeks and then it's finals week.  Oh yeah baby!  This semester is almost over.  It's gone soooooooo fast! 

But I want to talk about my 5k fun run with my friend.  It was a cold and windy day, but we covered the 3.1 miles in less than 29 minutes.  We didn't walk, which was a huge improvement for us from our last race.  We were also about 2 minutes faster!  We were quiet proud of ourselves for what we accomplished.  I always feel accomplished at the end of any race or event! 

But because my life was so busy the last two weeks, I am behind on reading my textbooks and other little assignments.  So this is all I can blog for now.  Until next time...Enjoy!

Behind on my Blogging...Oops

But I have a good reason!  It was my much needed Spring Break last week so I was busy.  I spent lots of time with my family and my boyfriend, Brian.  I also got to go shopping with my mom one day, and I rode my horse.  It was a good break, except, it had to end.  Thank goodness there are only seven weeks of school left, though.  Six of those are weeks of classes and the other is the bittersweet week of finals.

Boyfriend?  Yes, that's what I said.  We started talking several weeks ago and recently decided to be a couple.  I am so happy that our friends introduced us because Brian is such a great person and perfect for me.  I got to spend lots of time with him while I was home because he lives in a neighboring town back home.    He is so awesome!

Family time during my break was so nice, too.  I absolutely love being with them.  I especially love meal time with them.  We are all in the kitchen at once and we get to visit with each other.  It's so wonderful and the food at home is so much better than cafeteria food!  One day just my dad and I went to lunch, and it was good because just the two of got to talk about things.  Getting to go shopping with just my mom was fun because we got to chat about everything.  It was also a successful shopping day because we each came home with some cute things.  Erin and I spent most of our time together out riding horses because we both really enjoy it.  Daisy was a good girl while I was home, which made for relaxing riding.

Well, there is a little gist of what I was up to this past week.  Now it's time to say good night, sign off, and go to bed so that I can take on these last few weeks of my sophomore year of college.  Yikes!  I'll be a junior next year!
