Valentine's Day

Today, I went out for my first Valentine's dinner date ever!  Side note:  I've had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day, but no dinner date has ever happened and not gift has ever been given to me.  So today was a first, special, and fun night for me.  It was made possible by beautiful Jordyn and pretty Amy, two girls who I am friends with in my dorm.  I'm so glad they planned this dinner date and invited me to join them.  It sure beat studying organic chemistry.  We went out for a single girls dinner date together, and enjoyed ourselves.  We got all dressed up and it was fun.  I even ordered a new dress just to make the occasion even more special.  We went out for Mexican food at the best place here in Pullman, had virgin strawberry daiquiris, and finished off the date with fired ice cream!!  YUMMY and FUN is all I can say!

Why we are all single-I'm not sure.  We are all so cute, kind, and smart.

Round One of Exams, Spring '11

So it is already that time of the semester.  Exam time. 

My round one looked like it was going to start off badly.  I got sick the night before my first exam, which meant I did not study as much as I had planned or as much as I normally would have.  So I woke the morning of the exam knowing I wouldn't being doing well on my first Horticulture exam, yet I knew I still had the rest of the semester to make up for this first exam.  I got to class with the rest of my classmates and all of us were nervous for the exam, especially, when the professor gave us the multiple choice and said "Go, you've got ten minutes!"  We were frantic.  Then he collects them, hands out the rest of the exam and then says "Go home!"  A huge sigh of relief and happy murmurs spread across the room.  "Go home" is equivalent to "this exam is take home" when you, the student, have the exam in your hands.  Yeah!  Thank goodness because I was not ready for the exam questions that ended up being on the test.  For once, I can say I got sick for a reason and I am alright with it because I didn't waste time studying for it.  It upsets me when I spend time on something and it turns out that I didn't need to.  The take home exam wasn't very tough since I had the class notes, powerpoints, textbook, and internet at my fingertips back at my dorm.  And I worked on it with a friend.  It was great!

Hort exam down, o-chem and stats to go.

After today's review in stats, I feel that the exam next week will not be too hard.  Also, part of it is take home!  Yeah, again!  However, organic chemistry will be a different story.  It will require studying notes, flashcards, and reading all weekend and right up to exam time Wednesday evening.  Oh o-chem, you are not going to be easy!  Ugh.

At this point,  I would say my round one of exams for this spring semester are going to be like a roller coaster ride with several ups and downs, and chances are so will rounds two and three of exams.  It'll be great when it's all said and done.

The Lovely Laura

She is my best friend here at WSU and she calls me her bff Cara.  We spend a lot of time together and I don't know what I would do with out her.  If my day is rough, I can count on her to listen and give me suggestions.  She is there for me and I am there for her. 

We met because we both live in the same dorm.  But we really became friends when we realized we could be workout buddies since we were both looking for someone to exercise with.  Things have sure worked out!  She and I go to yoga and spin class together each week and fit other trips to the gym into our schedule, too.  I'm so glad she is willing to try new things because otherwise I would be all alone and probably wouldn't be as out going.  I was so happy when she said she would sign up for spin class and yoga with me.  Both were things neither of has had done before, but we took a chance.  Needless to say, we love spin and yoga very much and the time we get to spend together! 

If you asked Laura what her favorite part about being friends with me is, I am pretty sure she would say GIRL TIME!  Girl time happens about every day and if it doesn't we make it up as soon as possible.  Girl time includes painting nails, doing hair, making crafts, watching movies, making cookies, shopping, or going out and finding something to do.  Our favorites are nails, hair, and makeup.  We love being girly and doing girly things!  To the left is Laura and I after we got makeup make overs at the Clinque counter in The Bookie.  We LOVED it because it was girl time that involved makeup!  Don't we look great, especially, our eyes?


Again, I am happy to have Laura as friend.  She and I are super excited to be living together next year in an apartment because it'll let us expand girl time.  We are already planning how we want to decorate, what we want to cook, dinner parties, and workout routines.  Knowing Laura and being friends with her is so awesome!  Love ya girl!
